About me
I believe it all begins with a page. That lone sheet of paper can create whatever comes to mind. Limits don't exist, and the possibilities are infinite. That is something I strive to live by in my writing. The books I release look to fit that mould, by creating enriching characters and placing them in a world that helps them learn and grow through the challenges thrown their way. I pride myself on instilling positive messages through my characters so that readers can not only bond with them but also take them as inspiration.
My goal is to inspire a generation the same way stories and characters from the past inspired me. To make people feel emotion, whether it be a secret smile or on-edge nervousness, I want to take your imagination on a journey. And one day, with a bit of luck, I'd like to have my works turned into an animated T.V. Show for the world to see.
A little backstory
Initially, I wanted to create a T.V. show from the little stories I was writing, including going to school for broadcasting which I graduated from. Realizing I had no budget, and little time due to working a full-time job, I decided to take a crack at turning my T.V. show into a book series. I've been writing my whole life, but in September 2018 I set a goal to release Elements The Series. Since that day the series has continued to grow far beyond my expectations, and I hope to expand into other stories in the future as well.
Why do I write?
This question always makes me laugh. The practical real-life reason, as I stated above was due to a lack of budget. Writing books was the cheapest form I could get my stories out into the world. But I'll add some more to that. I began writing my first series, Elements, with the main character Minisc being a good reminder of what I wanted to get across to the world. That it was okay to fail, that life was difficult, but through friendship, compassion, hard work, and belief, anything is possible. I hope I, and the characters I write are living proof of that.
Some fun facts
I am in fact Canadian eh! I do love hockey, though I don't live in winter year-round. I love most sports actually. I also love my video games and have basically since birth. From the days of Earthbound and Super Mario world on my SNES, right up to games like God of War and Legend of Zelda (All of them... every last one), I’ve always loved games with a great story. Animation and sound design are two of my biggest fascinations, it amazes me how you can take thousands of still, silent images, and turn them into real life. But sadly my artistic skills are not enough for me to put those fascinations into my work... yet!
